Affiliate disclosure
Current state
Subtitle Convert does not currently participate in any affiliate programs. No links on this site are affiliate links. If that changes, this page will be updated and individual links will be marked.
What affiliate links are
An affiliate link is a link to a third-party product or service. If you click it and make a purchase, the site that referred you receives a commission from the seller. The price you pay is not affected.
Our policy
If we ever add affiliate links, we will follow these rules:
- Disclosure. Every page with affiliate links will carry a clear, visible disclosure at the top — not buried in a footer.
- Marking. Individual affiliate links will be visually marked (e.g. with "(affiliate)" text) so you can tell them apart from regular links.
- Recommendation integrity. We will only recommend products we genuinely believe are useful. A commission will never change a recommendation.
- No intrusion. Affiliate links will not be inserted into tool interfaces where they could be mistaken for site features.
Types of affiliate programs we would consider
If we add affiliate relationships in the future, they would be for products adjacent to subtitle work:
- Professional subtitle software (e.g. EZTitles, professional captioning services).
- Video editing software.
- Transcription services.
- Books about subtitling or translation.
We will not use affiliate links for:
- Free and open-source tools (they do not have affiliate programs).
- Products we do not use or would not recommend.
- High-commission products with poor quality.
Reader trust
Your trust is more valuable than any commission. If an affiliate relationship ever conflicts with honest recommendations, we will drop the affiliate relationship rather than compromise the recommendation.
