Data processing

Summary

Subtitle Convert does not process personal data on a server. All subtitle processing happens in your browser. No subtitle content is transmitted to us.

What we do not process

• Subtitle file contents.
• Text pasted into tool inputs.
• Any content from textarea fields.
• Session data, heatmaps or keystroke logs.
• User accounts (we do not have accounts).

What the hosting provider processes

When you access the site, Cloudflare (our hosting provider) processes standard HTTP request metadata to serve the request and protect the site:

• IP address (may be truncated or anonymised).
• User agent.
• Requested URL.
• Timestamp.
• Response status.

This is standard for any website. Cloudflare's privacy policy governs this processing.

Data subject rights (GDPR, CCPA)

Because we do not collect personal data ourselves, there is usually nothing for us to access, correct, delete or port. If you believe we hold personal data about you (which is unlikely), you may:

• Contact privacy@subtitle-convert.pages.dev.
• Request a copy of any data we hold about you.
• Request deletion.

We will respond within 30 days.

Data retention

We retain no data about you because we collect none.

Data transfers

We do not transfer data internationally because we do not collect data. Cloudflare's global CDN may serve requests from any region; this is governed by Cloudflare's terms.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children, because we do not collect data.

Legal basis (GDPR)

For the hosting metadata that Cloudflare processes, the legal basis is legitimate interest in operating a functional website and protecting it from abuse.

Future changes

If we add features that collect data (e.g. analytics, a newsletter, user accounts), this page will be updated and we will seek consent where required.
