Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains how Subtitle Convert ("we", "us", "our", "the site") handles information when you use subtitle-convert.pages.dev.

Summary

• Subtitle files are processed entirely in your browser. We never receive, see or store their contents.
• We do not require an account or any personal information to use the site.
• The site is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes normal HTTP request metadata (IP address, user agent, requested URL) to serve the request.
• We do not use third-party analytics that receive subtitle content.
• We do not sell or share any user data.

Subtitle processing

Every subtitle tool on this site runs in your browser using client-side JavaScript. When you paste or load subtitle text, that text is read and processed by the code already running on your device. It is never transmitted to a server. No request body containing subtitle text is ever sent.

This is different from "uploading a file to a server, the server converts it and sends it back". There is no such server. There is no backend. The site is static files.

Data we do not collect

• Subtitle file contents.
• The text of any subtitle you paste or load.
• Session recordings.
• Heatmaps.
• Keystroke logs.
• Any content from textarea inputs on the site.

Data that hosting provider processes

Like any website, when you request a page, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard HTTP request metadata to serve the request and to protect the site from abuse. This typically includes:

• Your IP address (which may be truncated or anonymised by Cloudflare).
• User agent string.
• Requested URL and HTTP method.
• Timestamp of the request.
• Response status code.

Cloudflare also operates a CDN and DDoS protection service. These are standard hosting functions and are covered by Cloudflare's own privacy terms. We do not ourselves store or analyse this metadata beyond what is needed to operate the site.

Advertising

The site may display advertising in the future to support operations. When advertising is enabled, this policy will be updated to describe what advertising providers collect and how to opt out. We will not run ads that overlay subtitle tool interfaces or interfere with tool operation.

Analytics

If we use analytics, it will be privacy-respecting and will never capture subtitle content. No analytics script currently transmits anything you type or load into any tool.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data from you directly, there is usually nothing to access, correct or delete. If you believe we hold personal data about you, contact us and we will investigate.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any change.
