How to convert WebVTT to SRT

What changes during conversion
- The
WEBVTTheader is removed. - Timestamp separators change from period to comma:
00:00:05.000becomes00:00:05,000. - Cues are renumbered sequentially starting from 1.
NOTE,STYLEandREGIONblocks are removed.- WebVTT cue settings (position, line, align, etc.) are dropped because SRT does not support them.
Supported input formats
WebVTT files starting with a WEBVTT header. Both HH:MM:SS.mmm and MM:SS.mmm timestamp styles are accepted.
Limitations
- WebVTT positioning and styling blocks are not converted — SRT has no equivalent.
- WebVTT cue identifiers are replaced with sequential numbers.
- Voice tags like
<v Speaker>are preserved as text and may need manual cleanup.
