Remove Subtitle HTML Tags

Strip inline HTML tags, ASS override tags and HTML entities from subtitle dialogue. Timings and cue structure are preserved.

What gets removed

HTML tags: <i>, <b>, <u>, <font>, <span>.
WebVTT voice and class tags: <v Speaker>, <c.classname>.
ASS override tags: {\an8}, {\pos(x,y)}, {\b1}.
HTML entities are converted to their plain characters (& → &).

When to use it

Prepare dialogue for a transcript export.
Submit a subtitle file to a platform that rejects formatting tags.
Convert from a subtitle format with rich formatting to a plain one.

Limitations

Bold and italics styling is lost permanently.
Position markers are removed so custom positioning will not work in the output.
